THE people of Malmesbury and surrounding villages have been generously donating to the Food Bank of Malmesbury.

Shoppers and colleagues at the Co-op have handed over gifts and donations totalling about £660 to local charities.

A MAN died when the car he was driving collided with an articulated lorry near Hullavington in the early hours of Christmas Eve.

Fire crews tackle chimney fire in Malmesbury

TWO fire crews helped extinguish a chimney fire in Malmesbury yesterday evening. 

Firefighters from Chippenham and Royal Wootton Bassett were called to St John's Street at 6.14pm on December 16 where they used a stirrup pump, chimney rods and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.

THE OWNER of an opticians in Malmesbury, who spent two weeks in Ethiopia testing eyes and training eye clinic staff, has said the experience was "humbling".

New housing development to come to Crudwell

The first phase of ten new properties is coming soon to Crudwell, near Malmesbury.
